Wall Street closes mixed after Trump hints at end of tariffs

United States markets closed mixed on Friday after President Donald Trump said Washington may not impose any more tariffs on Chinese imports. Trump stated Beijing is willing to make a deal, but that the US doesn't find it acceptable yet. The two presidents, Trump and Xi Jinping, are meeting later this month at the G20 summit in Argentina.

Meanwhile, Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar stated earlier today that there is no room for renegotiation of Theresa May's Brexit agreement, adding that a hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland would be difficult to avoid in a no deal scenario.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was 0.49% higher at the market close with The Travelers Companies as the best trading stock gaining 2.44%. The Nasdaq 100 ended 0.34% in the red led by Nvidia losses of 18.76%. The S&P 500 advanced 0.23% at the closing bell. The best performer was PG&E Group soaring 37.54%.

The euro increased 0.74% against the dollar to change hands for 1.1416 at 10:00 pm CET.
