Dimon says US economic recovery is 'anemic'

JPMorgan Chase Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon (pictured) stated on Wednesday that the economic recovery that came after the most recent financial crisis has been "anemic," local media reported. During his remarks at an event in New York City, the top executive noted that there is too much focus on short-term investments on Wall Street.

Commenting on the immigration issues and the government shutdown, Dimon stressed that funding for border wall needs to be a part of immigration compromise between the Democrats and the Republicans, adding that the current shutdown is "self-inflicted wound" for the United States. He also highlighted that the trade war with China needs to be resolved.

Dimon also remarked on the ongoing political turmoil in the United Kingdom and its Brexit deal, noting that the possibility of hard Brexit is very low but, however, if it did happen, "it would be a disaster."
