Volvo recalls 219K cars over fuel hose cracks

Sweden-based carmaker Volvo Cars has issued a recall for 219,000 units globally after cracks in fuel hoses were discovered with eleven different diesel models from 2015 and 2016. Out of the total number of recalled cars 37,000 are in Sweden.

The measure was taken as a precaution, spokeswoman for the company Annika Bjerstaf told local media. "What may happen is that the fuel may leak out into the engine room for a long time," she specified. The models recalled are the Volvo V40, V40CC, S60, S60CC, V60, V60CC, XC60, V70, XC70, S80 and XC90.

The company, owned by Chinese automaker Geely, has told the customers concerned to contact an authorized Volvo dealer to get the error repaired free of charge in up to two hours. So far, no injuries have been reported in relation to the issue, the spokeswoman added.
