US markets trade lower in premarket

Shares in the United States rose slightly premarket on Tuesday morning, however not enough to break into the green zone. German Minister of Economy and Energy Peter Altmaier warned the negotiations between the European Union and the US would get tougher.

In business news, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. reported its annual revenue rose 3% compared to the previous year, amounting to $514.4 billion. Qualcomm Incorporated revealed new 5G equipment at a press conference.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.15%, while Nasdaq 100 traded 0.16% lower. The S&P 500 dropped 0.17%.

The euro fell 0.23% to $1.12881 at 08:06 am ET. Precious metals were still on the rise, with palladium trading 1.37% higher to exchange hands for $1,477.28 at 08:08 am ET. Gold rose 0.39% a minute later, to go for $1,331.66.
