US markets open lower amid trade talk concerns

Wall Street opened lower on Tuesday as investors remained focused on the statement from German Minister of Economy and Energy Peter Altmaier who warned that auto tariffs negotiations between the European Union and the United States would get tougher. Trade talks between Washington and Beijing also remain a point of concern as the world's two largest economies face difficulties to strike a deal. In corporate news, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. reported that its annual revenue rose by 3% compared to the year before, reaching $514.4 billion.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.16% dragged down by DowDuPont's shares losing 1%, the Nasdaq 100 descended 0.26% thanks to Electronic Arts dropping 3.58%, while the S&P 500 lost 0.31% as Noble Energy plummeted 2.87% shortly after the opening bell.

The euro traded flat against the dollar, changing hands for 1.1314 at 9:30 am ET.
