Europe in the red in premarket, Trump-Kim summit in focus

Markets in Europe traded lower during the premarket trade on Wednesday as investors remained focused on the upcoming meeting between United States President Donald Trump and North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un in Hanoi due to start today. Brexit was also in the spotlight after May's yesterday's remarks in parliament. Meanwhile, the earnings season continued with Rio Tinto and Bayer reporting their corporate results before the bell.

The DAX lost 0.31% just before the opening bell, the CAC 40 fell 0.29% while the FTSE 100 declined 0.39% at the same time.

The euro decreased 0.12% against the US dollar to trade for 1.1377 at 8:59 am CET.
