European shares lower in early trade

European markets traded in the red early in the session on Wednesday. United States President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un are in Hanoi for their second summit dedicated to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. The two-day summit will kick off with a one-on-one meeting between the two leaders in the Vietnamese capital later in the day.

In Brexit developments, British Prime minister Theresa May told lawmakers on Tuesday she doesn't want an extension of Article 50 as "an extension beyond June would mean taking part in the European elections" and that the UK doesn't want that.

The DAX was down 0.37% at 9:16 am CET with Beiersdorf plunging over 10% after the company cut its profit outlook, while the CAC 40 lost 0.28% at the time as Safran dipped 1.33%. Meanwhile on the London Stock Exchange, the FTSE 100 fell 0.48%; Marks & Spencer dropped over 7% on talks of a possible joint venture with Ocado.
