House panel postpones hearing of Trump's associate

The House Intelligence Committee postponed its public hearing of Felix Sater, a longtime business associate of United States President Donald Trump and the chief negotiator for the Trump Tower Moscow project.

"In light of the cursory letter from the Attorney General, and our need to understand Special Counsel Mueller’s areas of inquiry and evidence his office uncovered, we are working in parallel with other committees to bring in senior officials from the DOJ, FBI and SCO to ensure that our committee is fully and currently informed about the SCO’s investigation, including all counterintelligence information," a spokesman for the panel said. "With the focus on those efforts this week, we are postponing Mr. Sater’s open interview," the spokesman added.

The announcement comes after Attorney General William Barr released a summary of Mueller's findings stating that there was no collusion with Russians with the intent to meddle in the 2016 presidential election. Democrats nevertheless requested to see the full Mueller report. Sater's hearing is part of the committee's investigation into links between Trump and Moscow and Trumps' financial interests.
