Man United appoint Solskjaer as permanent manager
Manchester United announced on Thursday that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been appointed the club's permanent manager and was given a three-year contract.
"This is the job that I always dreamed of doing and I'm beyond excited to have the chance to lead the club long term," the Norwegian said. "It was an honour to be a Manchester United player, and then to start my coaching career here. The last few months have been a fantastic experience," he added.
Solkskjaer was named the club's caretaker manager following the departure of Jose Mourinho in December but was promoted after a series of impressive results. Since Manchester United's former striker took over, the club recorded only one loss in 13 league games and advanced to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League by knocking out Paris Saint-Germain.
