China to open cloud market to foreign tech - report

China will offer foreign technology firms broader access to the country's cloud computing market as a part of the trade deal with the United States, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

China's Premier Li Keqiang reportedly proposed allowing several corporations, including International Business Machines Corp., Pfizer Inc., Rio Tinto plc, BMW AG, and Daimler AG; conduct trial operations for their cloud services, media said.

Earlier, the Chinese Commerce Ministry claimed the negotiations on a deal that would end the trade dispute with Washington are in "full swing."
