Barnier confirms no deal Brexit if May's deal fails - report

European Union's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier told the United Kingdom will face either a no deal departure from the bloc or a long extension of the exiting process in case the tabled withdrawal agreement wasn't passed in the House of Commons, BBC Adam Fleming reported on Friday. He informed the representatives of the member countries that a long Brexit delay will force the UK to take part in the upcoming European elections.

It was also reported that the President of the European Commission Donald Tusk would call an emergency summit before April 12 if the UK Prime Minister Theresa May's deal wasn't approved by the end of the day, during which two options will be discussed. Barnier allegedly said that if eight more British MPs voted for a permanent customs union the EU would update the political declaration in the next two days.

British parliament will discuss only the Brexit withdrawal agreement during today's session, not the political declaration concerning future relations with the European Union.
