May: Today last opportunity to guarantee Brexit

United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May urged Parliament on Friday to back her withdrawal agreement as it is their "last opportunity to guarantee Brexit."

May told MPs to back her motion if they want to deliver Brexit, "honor the referendum" and allow Parliament to shape the country's future relationship with the European Union. She insisted approving the deal today will not mean "closing any doors" and will be in the "national interest." It would also provide the public and businesses with the "certainty they need" and give the House of Commons a "greater involvement" in the next step of negotiations with the EU on the post-Brexit relations between the two sides.

The UK prime minister reiterated she is willing to leave her position "earlier than I intended" in order to ensure the results of the 2016 referendum are honored.
