Jamie Dimon considered 2020 presidential bid - report

United States banking giant JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon considered running for president in the next year's election in the US, CNBC reported citing sources familiar with the matter. Towards the end of next year, however, he decided against the run. According to the report, Dimon wanted to run as a Republic, but a nomination in the GOP was not available. On the other hand, he decided against the Democratic Party because of its alleged left leaning.

Although he was heard saying he could beat current President Donald Trump in an election, he ultimately decided not to run because of the current political climate. Instead, Dimon said he will continue to serve his country at his current position.

JPMorgan shares advanced 0.23% at 3:17 pm ET.
