US equities slightly higher premarket, trade in focus

United States markets recorded slight gains during Friday premarket trade, after Chinese leaders Xi Jinping expressed hope that the Washington-Beijing negotiations on trade would be concluded "as soon as possible." US President Donald Trump also praised the developments in the ongoing talks, even though he stated that the trade agreement with Beijing wasn't ready yet.

Shares of American tech company Snap Inc. jumped before the official start of the trading session, following the company's announcement of third-party app integration.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was 0.05% higher before the opening bell. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.06%, while the S&P 500 increased by 0.08% during premarket trading. The euro was 0.04% in the green compared to the dollar, changing hands for 1.1226 at 8:57 am ET.
