P&G revenues rise 1% to $16.46B in Q3

Procter & Gamble Co. had net sales of $16.46 billion in the third fiscal quarter of 2019, 1% higher than in the same period a year ago, a report from the company showed on Tuesday. At the same time, diluted net earnings per share (EPS) jumped 9% to $1.04.

Operating income was $3.23 billion in the first three months of 2019, an improvement of 1% in the corresponding quarter of 2018, while gross profit advanced 3% to arrive at $4.8 billion, according to the financial release.

"We delivered another quarter of strong organic sales growth, enabling us to further increase our outlook for the year. Cash generation also remains strong, supporting an increase in our cash productivity target and extending our long track record of dividend increases. Our focus on superiority, productivity and improving P&G’s organization and culture is delivering improved results despite a challenging competitive and macroeconomic environment," said David Taylor, CEO of the company.

Shares were down by 0.10% in premarket trade after the results were published.
