Turkish FM: No intention to postpone S-400 delivery

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu dispelled on Wednesday any doubts about the delay of delivery of the Russian S-400 missile system to Turkey, describing the deal as "a fait accompli."

"There is no talk about delaying or canceling the deliveries of the S-400s," the minister told Haberturk TV. "The treaty on their purchase is a fait accompli, so why should we be discussing the possibility for delaying the delivery dates?" he wondered.

Cavusoglu denied last week reports which suggested that Ankara is considering pulling out of the deal with Russia, signaling that Turkey was allegedly making an effort not to put relations with the United States, a fierce opponent of the agreement, under more strain.
