Bitcoin falls over 3%, trades below $8,000

The world's most popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin traded in the red on Thursday after breaking the $8,000 mark for the first time since July 2018 earlier this week.

Bitcoin surged to $8,300 on Tuesday, its new 2019 high, and is now up over 25% in value for the week. The leading digital currency sank 3.49% at 12:26 pm CET, to go for $7,850.30.

Meanwhile, ethereum picked up momentum in the past couple of days, rising 1.92% to $251.56 at 12:39 pm CET. Ethereum is up nearly 45% in value for the week.
