Sanders slams Waltons over Walmart wages

Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders slammed the Walton family on Twitter for "poverty wages" at Walmart which has a market capitalization of $292.3 billion. The senator said: "Walmart is owned by the richest family in America. They must pay ALL workers a living wage."

The Walton family is worth $174 billion, more than the world's richest billionaire, Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos who is worth $152.8 billion.

Sanders commended Amazon, Disneyland, Costco and Target for raising the minimum wage for their employees to $15 an hour. Additionally, the presidential candidate supported McDonald's workers this week as they went on strike to demand wages of $15 an hour, union rights and for the company to look into workplace violence and sexual harassment.
