Equities in Asia lower as Huawei seeks ban lifting

Market across the Asia-Pacific region were lower on Wednesday as Chinese tech giant Huawei sought to lift the ban the United States Commerce Department previously imposed on the company. Meanwhile, it was reported Toyota was considering investing approximately $550 million in Chinese ride-hailing company Didi Chuxing.

The Japanese Nikkei 225 ended 1.20% lower, while the South Korean Kospi Composite idecreased 0.87%. China's Shanghai Composite was up 0.29% at 8:05 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite dropped 0.12% at the same time. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was down 0.72%.

The US dollar lost 0.10% against the Japanese yen to change hands for 109.27 at 8:07 am CET.
