Varadkar warns UK will not get a better Brexit deal

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar warned the United Kingdom that a change of leadership does not mean London can get a better Brexit deal. "I am a little bit concerned that some people in London seem to think that because the House of Commons failed to ratify that agreement that automatically means they are going to get a better one. That is a terrible political miscalculation. I hope that is not the one that is being made across the water," he said before the Irish parliament.

Varadkar added that the outgoing UK Prime Minister Theresa May was "not a bad negotiator" and that her Brexit deal was a "finely balanced compromise," even though it was not perfect. On Tuesday, Germany's Minister for Europe Michael Roth also stressed that the Withdrawal Agreement cannot be renegotiated.
