Johnson wins second round of Tory leadership contest

Boris Johnson won the most votes in the second round of the Tory leadership contest on Tuesday. The current top contender secured 126 MP votes, while Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt came in second with 46 votes. Former Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab was eliminated in this round of voting.

Aside from Johnson and Hunt, Michael Gove, Sajid Javid and Rory Stewart will participate in tonight's live televised debate.

Johnson has emerged as the clear frontrunner to replace Theresa May as prime minister in last week's vote as well, while in today's ballot he went up by 40%.
