Foreign oil company in Basra hit by rocket - reports

A foreign oil company headquarters in Basra, Iraq was hit by a rocket, according to media reports. Police officials stated that two Iraqi staff members were injured in the blast.

Unnamed oil workers claimed there were three explosions in the Burjesia area within the Southern Oilfields, where Exxon Mobil Corp., Royal Dutch Shell Plc and Eni S.p.A. operate. Security sources told Reuters that Exxon plans to evacuate 20 foreign staff from Basra. Currently, there is no information on the perpetrators.
