KLM orders up to 35 Embraer aircraft worth $2.5B

Dutch flag carrier KLM has ordered potentially 35 of Embraer's E195-E2 aircraft in a deal valued at $2.48 billion, the latter announced in a press release on Wednesday.

The airline's Cityhopper subsidiary placed firm orders for 15 aircraft with purchase rights for a further 20 of the same model. It is currently the largest Embraer operator in Europe with a fleet of 49 E-Jets, composed of 17 E175s and 32 of the larger E190.

The order takes Embraer's tally from the ongoing Paris Air Show to 78 orders with a total value of around $4.6 billion.
