EIA: US crude inventories down by 12.8M barrels

United States crude oil inventories decreased by 12.8 million barrels to 469.6 million in the week ending June 21, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Crude oil refinery inputs averaged 17.3 million barrels per day during the same week, which is 73,000 barrels more than the previous week's average. Refineries operated at 94.2% of their capacity. Meanwhile, gasoline production was up compared to the week before, averaging 10.5 million barrels per day.

Crude oil imports averaged 6.7 million barrels per day last week, down by 812,000 barrels per day from the previous week. Total commercial petroleum inventories fell by 11.9 million barrels.
