O'Rourke vows to pursue Trump on Russia probe

Democratic candidate for United States president Beto O'Rourke promised to continue the investigation into current President Donald Trump if elected. He stated that the Congress must begin impeachment proceedings as a result of the findings of the Russia probe "so we can have the facts and the truth and we follow them as far as they go and as high up as they reach."

"If we set another precedent now, that a candidate who invited the participation of a foreign power, a president who sought to obstruct the investigation into the invasion of our democracy, if we allow him to get away with this with complete impunity, we will have set a new standard and that is that some people, because of the position of power and public trust that they hold, are above the law," O'Rourke argued.

The Democrat also attacked Trump on foreign policy, saying the president "has alienated our allies and our friends and our alliances... diminished our standing in the world and made us less able to confront challenges, whether its Iran or North Korea or Putin." O'Rourke vowed to strengthen partnerships with traditional allies and "make sure we live our values through our foreign policy."
