WH: Trump, Netanyahu discussed stopping Iran

United States President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed on Wednesday ways to "stop" Iran's "malign actions," the White House said in a statement released on Thursday.

The statement said: "The two leaders discussed cooperation between the United States and Israel in advancing shared national security interests, including efforts to prevent Iran’s malign actions in the region."

The office of the Israeli prime minister added that, in the phone call, Netanyahu hailed Trump for tweeting that he will increase sanctions on Iran.

The US threatened further sanctions on Iran for enriching uranium beyond the 3.67% in line with its promise to withdraw from some parts of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) due to problems that aroused in the Iran nuclear deal after the US pulled out of it in 2018 and introduced sanctions on Iran. Meanwhile, Netanyahu warned earlier this week that Tehran's move is "very dangerous" for the entire Middle East.
