US stocks mostly flat premarket ahead of earnings

After hitting all-time highs a day earlier, stocks in the United States were mostly flat in premarket trading on Tuesday as investors awaited an array of corporate earnings. Major banks including JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo, as well as pharmaceutical giant Johnson and Johnson, are all scheduled to report before the bell.

On the data front, US retail sales, industrial production and business inventories figures are scheduled for release later in the day.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 traded flat premarket at 4:15 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 added 0.07% at the same time. The euro lost 0.12% against the dollar to sell for 1.1244 at 4:15 am ET.
