Wall Street opens flat after earnings, Dow at record-high

Equities on United States' stock market started the Tuesday's trading session almost unchanged following several important earnings reports. Johnson and Johnson, JPMorgan Chase and Co., and Wells Fargo reported higher than expected revenues in the second quarter of the fiscal year, as did Goldman Sachs Group Inc., despite its income falling due to worsening in investment management and investment banking. Meanwhile, US Census Bureau stated the country's retail sales increased 0.4% in June compared to the previous month, while the Federal Reserve said the industrial production remained same month-on-month.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was almost flat at 9:30 am ET, rising just 0.02% at 9:38 to reach an all-time intraday high. Goldman increased the most, rising above 1%. The Nasdaq 100 fell 0.16% with Western DIgital Corp. falling 2.79%. The S&P 500 was flat at 9:30 am ET, as CarMax Inc. dropped 5.04%.

The euro fell 0.34% against the dollar to 1.12192 at 9:29 am ET, while the the British pound slipped 0.74% to change hands for $1.24234 concurrently.
