Deutsche Telekom's revenue rises 3.2% in H1

Deutsche Telekom AG on Thursday said that its net revenue in the first half of 2019 stood at €39.2 billion, 7.9% higher year-over-year, while its revenue adjusted for positive net exchange rate effects was increased by €1.2 billion or 3.2% on an annual basis. The company's adjusted earnings per share stood at €0.53, marking a 3.9% increase compared to the first six months of 2018.

There was a jump in reported net profit in the second quarter of €900 million euros, 90.7% above the prior-year level. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization increased year-on-year by €0.9 billion or 7.7% to €12.2 billion in the first half of 2019. At the same time, the firm's headcount decreased by 1.4% compared to the end of 2018.

Total revenue for the United States operating segment of €19.6 billion in the first half of 2019 increased by 13.6%, while the T-Mobile US' total revenues increased by 6%. "We remain reliable. Our business performed well in all areas again in the first half of 2019. That puts us in a position to deliver the results we promised," Tim Hottges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom said.
