Goldman okays subprime credit scores for Apple Card - report

Goldman Sachs Group Inc., which started a limited launch of a new credit card developed with Apple Inc., is accepting users with subprime credit scores that apply for the card, CNBC reported on Friday citing sources familiar with the matter.

iPhone users can apply for the Apple Card and their application is reviewed by Goldman within two minutes in most cases, the sources said. One source added that a software firm Provenir was hired by Goldman to help facilitate the process. The card will be released for the broader public later in August.

A subprime credit score is generally considered to be under the FICO score of 660, the article noted.
