Zarif: Nuclear deal not renegotiable

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, is not up for renegotiation, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Friday, according to ILNA.

Speaking during his visit to France, Zarif said negotiations on the nuclear deal with French President Emmanuel Macron were "productive."

Iran decided to suspend its compliance to parts of the deal in response to the European parties' inability to fully circumvent US sanctions imposed on Iran after the US withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018. Before France, Zarif visited Finland, Sweden and Norway to discuss the nuclear deal.
