UK govt says it will not comply with Grieve's demands

The government of the United Kingdom will "under no circumstances" comply with demands from Tory MP Dominic Grieve and publish all correspondence in relation to prorogation and Operation Yellowhammer, a source from Downing Street told ITV on Monday.

Grieve said in Parliament during the debate on his motion to publish the documents that denying his request to see how the government came to its decision would amount to a "revolutionary situation." He also added that whistleblowers told him that the prorogation decision "smacked of scandal."

The motion, which will be voted on shortly, aims to convince the government to publish all correspondence, including text messages and messaging app conversations, in regard to the decision to suspend Parliament. It also includes Operation Yellowhammer which is a paper that stipulates the consequences of a no-deal Brexit.
