JPMorgan: Boris Johnson will most likely resign

American banking giant JPMorgan Chase & Co. issued a note to its clients on Tuesday assessing that United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson is "most likely" to resign after his push for a snap election failed for the second time and MPs voted for a Brexit delay.

According to the note signed by JPMorgan's head of UK economics, Malcolm Barr, other options for Johnson include presenting an acceptable withdrawal deal or pulling back on his promise to take the country out of the European Union on October 31.

In his election campaign and after he won the leadership contest in the Conservative Party, Johnson repeatedly vowed to leave the EU on October 31, "with or without a deal."
