Johnson: UK will leave EU without deal if necessary

The government of the United Kingdom will do everything to reach a withdrawal deal with the European Union, but is also prepared to walk out without a deal, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Tuesday.

"We’re going to get a deal, and we’ll work very hard to get a deal," he stated. Commenting on claims his move to leave the EU without a deal would be undemocratic, the prime minister stated: "This stuff about it being undemocratic: donnez-moi un break. What a load of nonsense."

British MPs passed a law that demands Johnson to ask for a Brexit delay if no deal is reached with the EU and accepted by Parliament by October 19. However, the prime minister said earlier he would rather be "dead in a ditch" than postpone Brexit.
