Khamenei: Iran will never hold talks with US

Iran will never hold negotiations with the United States, Tehran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stated on Tuesday. He added that the "US policy of maximum pressure" is bound to "fail."

The United States is blaming Iran for attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure, but Iran denies the claims and Saudi Arabia said a further investigation is needed. The attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities, which led to a jump in oil prices comparable only to that at the start of the 1991 Gulf War, were claimed by Yemeni Houthis.

Last week, US Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin stated that "maximum pressure" is "working." Meanwhile, Trump pointed out there are no plans for him to meet with Iran's President Hassan Rouhani during the United Nations General Assembly session in New York this month.
