Europe starts mostly lower ahead of Fed rate decision

European markets started the day lower on Wednesday as investors were cautious ahead of the United States Federal Reserve's interest rate decision which will be announced after trading ends in Europe later in the day. During the session, the European Union and the United Kingdom are set to release inflation data. Airlines were among the biggest losers in the indexes as fuel prices continued to impact them following the attack on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia.

Germany's DAX lost 0.07% at 9:03 am CET. Beiersdorf was down 1.68% at 9:17 am CET.

The FTSE 100 was up 0.10% at 9:14 am CET.

The CAC 40 declined 0.17% at 9:13 am CET.

The euro was 0.04% in the red against the dollar, going for 1.10675 at 9:15 am CET. The pound fell 0.25% compared to the US currency and was trading for 1.24683 at 9:15 am CET.
