Rouhani: Yemeni Aramco attack was warning to Saudis

The attacks Yemeni Houthis carried out on Saudi Aramco's oil facilities in Saudi Arabia were a "warning" to Riyadh to stop the war in Yemen, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday. He added that Tehran sees proof of this in the fact the attack hit the oil industry instead of a school or hospital.

The president added that Iran does not wish for conflicts in the region and blamed the US-Saudi military coalition for tensions in the Middle East. He also commented that accusations that Iran was behind the attacks are made under "pressure" from Washington.

Pro-Iran Yemeni Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the Aramco attacks, but the United States said Iran was involved and Saudi Arabia noted it is prepared to show Tehran that the weapons used in the attack were Iranian-made.
