Trump to 'destroy' Turkish economy if it goes 'off limits' in Syria

United States President Donald Trump threatened to "obliterate" the Turkish economy if Ankara does anything "off limits" during its operation in North Syria.

"As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!) They must, with Europe and others, watch over the captured ISIS fighters and families," Trump tweeted. He added that the US has done "more than anyone expected" against the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria and claimed it was now time for "others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory."

Earlier, Trump refused to join Turkey in its planned operation in North Syria and started pulling US troops out of the Middle Eastern country. Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as well as France voiced concerns about Turkey's plans.
