Trump: Zelensky phone call transcript 'plain vanilla'

Speaking to reporters in the White House on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump remained adamant that the phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 25 was "perfect," describing the transcript of the conversation as "plain vanilla."

"It's all a big con being perpetrated on the United States public and even the world," Trump stressed. He then turned to Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff, saying that he "defrauded" the American public.

Asked under what conditions he would accept to take part in the impeachment inquiry, Trump said he would participate if the rules, with which he is not familiar, were "fair" and if House Republicans were given the right to vote on whether to conduct an inquiry at all.
