Salesforce's Benioff suggests higher taxes for the rich

Californian software company Salesforce’s CEO Marc Benioff (pictured) commented on Monday that billionaires should pay higher taxes. Being a billionaire himself, he told to New York Times that higher taxes would “help generate trillions of dollars” that could be then used for higher causes as is fighting global warming.

Benioff is among the first billionaires who proposed such a radical measure together with the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett and Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates.

The New York Times said that the 26 richest people in the world have as much money as the poorest 3.8 billion people, and the constant carbon emissions are propelling the planet to disastrous climate changes.
