DUP's Dodds: Brexit deal against Belfast agreement

Deputy leader of the Northern Irish Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), Nigel Dodds, stated in Parliament on Saturday that the Brexit deal, which is up for a vote today, "drives a coach and horses through the Belfast Agreement," or the Good Friday Agreement.

According to the MP, the deal stipulates that Northern Ireland stays in the EU customs union with a separate VAT regime from the rest of the country, without "any agreement up-front."

Johnson responded to the remarks by explaining that the arrangement for Northern Ireland is only "temporary."
