Bercow refuses to allow meaningful Brexit vote

Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow (pictured) refused to allow a meaningful vote on the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Brexit agreement on Monday.

"My ruling is that the motion will not be debated today as it would be repetitive and disorderly to do so," Bercow told the parliament, asserting there was no reason for the MPs to vote on the same motion they refused to back two days ago.

Due to the Letwin amendment, which was passed on Saturday, Downing Street will now have to pass its Withdrawal Agreement Bill through both the House of Commons and the House of Lords before the country can leave the bloc.
