Wall Street opens slightly higher after earnings
Wall Street started the day in the green after Biogen, UPS, Procter & Gamble, UTC, Lockheed Martin and McDonald's all posted their quarterly earnings. Meanwhile, Brexit remained in focus in Europe and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he would continue Ankara's operation in Syria unless Washington keeps its promises on the Kurdish pullout from northeastern Syria despite criticism from Russia and Syria.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average started 0.05% higher in the first minute of trading as P&G gained 4.13% at 9:31 am ET. The Nasdaq 100 was up 0.39% at 9:30 am ET as it was led higher by Biogen which surged over 40%. The S&P 500 increased 0.22% at 9:30 am ET.
The euro lost 0.14% compared to the dollar and went for 1.11335 at 9:33 am ET.
