Johnson to assure EU UK leaves on Oct 31 - report

United Kingdom Prime Minister intends to call European Union leaders later tonight and assure them that Britain's policy remains that it leaves the bloc on October 31, a government source told ITV's Paul Brand, contrary to an earlier report which claimed that Johnson would be willing to agree to a short extension if the 27 remaining members could guarantee that the third delay would be final, a government source told ITV's Paul Brand.

According to the source quoted by the political correspondent, if the EU accepts Parliament's request and extends the Article 50 process until January 2020, then the prime minister will pull the Withdrawal Agreement Bill and call a general election.

UK Parliament is set to vote on the bill in question later tonight. However, if approved, the UK leader will face another obstacle, as MPs will be also voting on whether to allow Johnson to speed up the legislative process, leaving lawmakers only two days to scrutinize the Withdrawal Bill.
