UK govt to pause Brexit bill until EU responds to delay - Johnson

The British government will pause its Brexit bill in the House of Commons until the European Union decides on the Brexit delay asked for by MPs in Westminster, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Tuesday. Johnson went on to praise his Brexit deal as he said it was the first of its kind that had been accepted by UK MPs.

The prime minister expressed his "disappointment" in the House and added that the country now faces more uncertainty. Johnson reiterated his stance that he wants the UK to leave the EU on October 31 and added that Tuesday's program motion vote means the government will have to accelerate no-deal preparations.
