Dimon: Slower economy doesn't mean recession

Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co. Jamie Dimon stated on Tuesday that a decline in the economy does not have to indicate a recession.

Speaking to CNBC, he expressed hope that global trade disagreements would be resolved. He pointed out that the current United States administration pays attention to China's trade developments, unlike the ones before.

Dimon also said that "a pause in rates may not be a bad idea" and that the Federal Reserve is led by "smart people who act wisely."
