Fed's Kashkari slightly more optimistic on economy

President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis Neel Kahkari (pictured) said on Tuesday that he is a ''little bit more optimistic" on the United Stated economy than he was a few months before. He added that the Fed finds modestly accommodative economy appropriate.

"Feeling a little bit better about the US economy than he had a few months ago. There's a lot of consensus at fed that monetary policy is modestly accommodative," Kashkari said in his speech before a Q&A audience.

Last week, the Minneapolis Fed president asserted it was "too early" for the bank to raise its interest rates due to the global economic slowdown.
