EU 'elites' would like to see Corbyn in govt - Barclay

Brexit Secretary Stephen Barclay (pictured) accused the European Union's "elites" of interfering into the United Kingdom's elections, claiming they would prefer to see Jeremy Corbyn come into power and renegotiate the Brexit deal.

"This interference in our domestic election campaign shows where the EU elites' real sympathies lie: with a Corbyn government which would renegotiate a deal and then campaign against it in another referendum, propped up by the SNP or the Liberal Democrats who would simply revoke article 50 without letting the British people have a say," Barclay wrote in a Sunday Times article.

Earlier, Scottish National Party Leader Nicola Sturgeon stated she would consider creating informal alliances in Westminster to keep Tories out of government.
