US shares dip on Beijing's reported trade pessimism

China is pessimistic about reaching a trade deal with the United States as President Donald Trump is reluctant to pull tariffs on its goods before the agreement is sealed, CNBC reported on Monday citing a source in the government in Beijing.

Premarket trade on Wall Street turned negative shortly after the publication of the article, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average index down 0.09%, or 25 points at 8:40 am ET.

The S&P 500 lost 0.04% at the same time, as the Nasdaq 100 slid 0.13%.

The euro traded flat against the American currency, buying $1.10588 at 8:41 am ET.
