Eurozone construction output up by 0.7% in September

Construction production in the euro area increased by 0.7% in September compared with August, the European Union's statistical office Eurostat said in a release on Tuesday. At the EU level, production rose by 0.3% in the same time period. Year-over-year, construction was down by 0.7% in the Eurozone and up by 0.3% at the EU level.

Civil engineering and building construction were 1.2% and 0.6% higher in the euro area on a monthly basis, while on an annual basis, civil engineering and building construction fell by 1% and 1.1%, respectively. In the EU28, civil engineering rose by 1.8% while building construction fell by 0.1%.

Year-over-year, building construction fell by 1.0%, while civil engineering increased by 1.1% in the euro area, while at the EU level, civil engineering rose by 2.4%, whereas building construction remained unchanged, Eurostat said.
